Welcome!
We are a diverse community committed to creating spaces for Jewish study, culture, prayer, celebration and acts of social justice.
Mile End Chavurah is an inclusive, intergenerational community reimagining Jewish life in Montreal. Founded in 2010 by a small group of unaffiliated Jews who gathered to celebrate Shabbat, it has grown into a community of more than 300 members, whose lives are woven together by a shared commitment to Jewish culture, ritual, and mutual care.
We are committed to renewing progressive and egalitarian practices for every stage of life-from birth to death, from coming of age to union ceremonies. We honour tradition by bringing it to life in new ways, reimagining Jewish texts and rituals to engage Jews of every religious, atheist, or uncertain orientation. Above all, we strive to show up for one another in times of joy and hardship. To braid bonds of community that can be sustained from one season to the next.
